Caregiver of the Month | Eric Wojcik

Working in health care for the last 17 years, I’ve had the opportunity to have many experiences as a CNA. About half of that time I have spent taking care of hospice patients. When the pandemic hit, I needed to get out of front line care as a precautionary measure, as my girlfriend is immunocompromised. I went into Medicare sales working from home & focused on helping her. It’s during this time, I also started working on a part time basis with Gentle Shepherd. The work wasn’t as taxing on my body, I could still help the geriatric population and it gave me freedom to work when I wanted to. I started going to some of the same facilities, working with the same staff and getting to know the clients. Eventually, I decided to leave my insurance job and come back to work in the field on a full time basis.
I love getting to meet new clients and learn about their lives and their families. Working at Gentle Shepherd fills me with a great sense of gratitude and that motivates me to want to give my best every shift. I sincerely love my job and am thankful everyday for the people who support me in the office and most importantly, the clients I get to serve.
